    I have a friend whose wife had an infection (or something, I forget exactly) that resulted in all food tasting bland with no cure! Not good

    Wow, MOJO, that’s a pretty miserable affliction! (I think Oliver Sachs wrote about such a problem as well.) Of course, I’m exaggerating about hoping I would die (see yesterday’s post), but the enjoyment of food is certainly a major component of joie de vivre for me.
