Day’s Eyes

Bright daisies, abstracted.

I don’t remember when it was I learned that daisies were originally “day’s eyes,” but it’s one of those odd bits of knowledge that sticks in your head and forever after colors the way that you look at an object. The latin name is “solis oculis”—eye of the sun—which is even more literally descriptive.

I want to make a textile print out of this.
