A Dusting of Winter Flowers

From a distance, you would have said a light flurry of snow had fallen and clung to the evergreen branches. Up close, you can see that small, seemingly unseasonable buds have graced these bushes with a pale blush of springlike pink.

As usual, my botanical ignorance keeps me from knowing either the name of this plant or whether indeed these blossoms are out of sync with the season. Whatever the case, they are lovely.
