I wouldn’t blame you if your reaction to this image was a nonplussed “WTF?!?”
I went through so many versions of this picture that I’m quite sure I lost my way. I’ve descended deep into filtration artifice, and am entirely aware that at this point an aesthete like me ought be running away while making little retching noises.
Still, there’s at least an element of success here, even if it falls short of the good-taste mark. It makes me want to break out an actual pencil and go draw something. Hmmm…

I like the humongous version better.
I like humonous version, too, but the great spreading oak or whatever species it is, so dominates the photo that I want to commit my usual sin and crop the rest out.
Time for me to ‘fess up. Despite my disclaimers, truth to tell I actually really like the way this image came out. I’m tempted to order a big ol’ print of it.
I feel as if I shouldn’t like it, but I do.
